Welcome to Dyersville, Iowa, where small-town charm meets unique attractions and a rich history. Let’s explore what makes this community so special!

Start your morning with a coffee at Brew and Brew, the perfect way to fuel up for a day of exploring and then spend the morning shopping around town.

  • Head to Just for you Boutique for a fantastic selection of women’s fashion apparel, screen printing, embroidery, decor, personalized products and even fresh flowers.
  • With something for everyone, the Plaza Antique Mall, offers over 250 booths and cases of antiques and collectibles.
  • Savvy Salvage offers the best in vintage finds, antique treasures, candles, and quirky hand towels.
  • Don’t miss Down Home Décor, a bit off Main Street but worth the trip! Trust me, it’s a miracle I didn’t leave with enough to redecorate my whole house.

For a unique slice of Dyersville’s identity, visit the National Farm Toy Museum. This two-story collection-based museum is packed with farmstead replicas, tractors, and agricultural equipment displays from past to present. By the time you leave, you’ll understand why Dyersville proudly holds the title of “The Farm Toy Capital of the World!”

As you head back into town, don’t miss the Basilica of St. Francis Xavier. Built in the mid-1800s, this stunning piece of architecture is one of the most beautiful churches in Iowa and a must-see for history and art lovers alike.

When it’s time for lunch, Dyersville has some fantastic options.
  • Chad’s Pizza is a local favorite, serving up hearty, delicious slices.
  • Or head to Textile Brewing Company, located in a beautifully restored former sewing factory that once made pajamas. The brewery, affectionately named “Mildred,” features vintage and antique factory decor. Order a flight of their craft beers, try one of their giant pretzels, and don’t miss their flatbreads, they’re some of the best pizza you’ll ever have!

Next, dive into the magic of the Field of Dreams. Go behind the scenes to learn fascinating details about how this iconic movie was made and the heartwarming stories it captured. Then, visit the original movie site where the famous field and farmhouse sit nestled in the cornfields. While there, grab a snack at the concession stand (check out “The Stretch, The Dugout, or Ice Cream“), play a game of catch on the outfield, or take a guided tour inside the farmhouse. For the ultimate experience, you can even book a stay at the house! Don’t forget to pick up some movie memorabilia as a souvenir. The Field of Dreams continues to grow, as construction has been in the works for several youth baseball and softball fields surrounding the iconic site. But don’t worry, the original movie field, farmhouse, and cornfield will remain preserved for visitors to enjoy for generations to come.
