Hey everyone, I am Grace Tigges. I wanted to take a moment to share something that meant a lot to me: my internship experience with Emerge Marketing Solutions. I have been interning with Emerge since March, and for anyone curious about what it’s like to intern in marketing or just looking for a little behind-the-scenes of my journey, this one’s for you.
Why I Chose Emerge
From the beginning, Emerge stood out to me, not just as a marketing agency, but as a place that felt aligned with who I am. I wasn’t just looking for any internship; I wanted one that would help me grow professionally while also staying true to my morals and values.
What drew me to Emerge was their purpose: “Revitalizing rural Iowa through strategic and visionary leadership.” That mission isn’t just a tagline, it’s something they live out every day. Emerge inspires communities, businesses, and non-profits to step out of their comfort zones and reach their full potential.
The Work: Hands-On & Eye-Opening
Right away, I was trusted with real responsibilities (in the best way). I helped gather contacts for a fundraiser, created an interactive map, and worked directly with a printing company to coordinate print projects. I also got to help create magazine covers for an elementary career fair, which was so fun! On top of that, I was invited to join client meetings and website training sessions, which gave me a deeper understanding of how strategy and collaboration come together behind the scenes.
I wasn’t just shadowing, I was doing. And with every project, I learned something new. There were challenges, of course, but that’s where the growth happened. One of my favorite parts? Seeing the projects I helped with for websites go live for others to see.
The Team & Culture
Let’s talk about the team because, honestly, they made the experience. From day one, everyone was welcoming, encouraging, and open to collaboration. I felt like my voice mattered, even as an intern.
The team made space for feedback, ideas, and even laughter (there was a lot of that). Whether it was a quick check-in, a brainstorming session, or a casual chat, it all helped create a culture of support and creativity.
What I’m Taking With Me
Interning at Emerge Marketing Solutions was more than just a learning experience, it was a chance to grow, connect, and contribute to something meaningful. I’m walking away with new skills, lasting memories, and a deeper understanding of what it means to do work that truly matters. I’m so thankful to the entire Emerge team for welcoming me and showing me what strong leadership, purpose-driven work, and community impact really look like in action.

Thank you both for being incredible mentors, for always keeping me on track, and for supporting me through every project.
