After lunch, take some time to learn about the rich history of these river towns. The McGregor Historical Museum shares stories of how the area grew from a small ferry landing to a major shipping hub, with exhibits that bring the past to life.

If you’re feeling adventurous, the great outdoors is calling! Pikes Peak State Park, located just outside McGregor, is one of Iowa’s most iconic spots, offering breathtaking views, 11 miles of trails, and a boardwalk to a stunning waterfall. Effigy Mounds National Monument, a short drive from Marquette, is a must-see for history and nature enthusiasts. Here, you’ll find ancient ceremonial mounds surrounded by scenic hiking trails.
