My journey with Emerge actually started long before I officially joined the team.
For several years, I worked with Emerge as a subcontractor through Blue Rock Designs, designing websites and collaborating on client projects. In July 2024, I was asked if I’d be interested in joining the team as a Graphic Designer and Web Designer. My answer was an easy “yes!” I had loved working with the team and knew it would be the perfect fit.
Before Emerge, I spent 10 years as a graphic designer in Hy-Vee’s corporate advertising department. After leaving to spend more time with my family, I began working part-time with my sister at Blue Rock Designs, learning web design and running my own Etsy shop selling printable cards and invitations. As my kids got older, I took on another part-time role while continuing freelance work. When the opportunity with Emerge came along, it felt like everything had come full circle. I could work from home, be part of a team, and continue doing what I love.
Today, I work on a variety of graphic design and website projects, which is exactly what I was hoping for. One of my favorite things about Emerge is that every project is different. I was ready to expand beyond website design and collaborate with a creative team again, and Emerge has given me that opportunity.
One project that stands out is the Atlantic Area Chamber website. The client was incredibly open to new ideas and creative solutions, which made the process so much fun. It turned into one of the most creative and enjoyable websites I’ve worked on.
When I think about the word “Emerge,” I picture a butterfly emerging from a cocoon. Growth, transformation, and becoming something stronger, wiser, and more beautiful than before. That’s what Emerge means to me.
I think what makes Emerge different is the people. We have an amazing team of talented women who genuinely care about our clients 
and their success. We don’t just complete projects. We want to help our clients grow and achieve their goals.
One of the things I appreciate most is that we work with small communities and businesses, helping them tell their stories and providing guidance they may not otherwise have access to. It’s rewarding to know the work we do can make a real difference.
As we celebrate 10 years of Emerge, I’m excited to continue learning, experiencing new opportunities, and growing alongside this incredible team.
